This village is located in the western part of the term, in the limit with the municipal term of Venta del Moro. You consents from Requena for the N-322, once they spend the deviations to Los Duques and Casas de Eufemia, it takes the following deviation to the right (the CV-460), and to about three kilometers their first exit to the left, arriving to the passed village approximately a kilometer. The north exit of the village communicates him with The Ruices, to less than 2 km.

For the east the next village belongs Houses from Eufemia to about 5 kms, and for the south, the next village is The Isidros to about 7 kms. The communication with the capital of the term is made through a line of buses that unites it daily, giving this way service to their around 50 inhabitants that live permanently in the village, and those more than 200 that arrive in summery time.

HISTORY

Casas de Cuadra receives its name of an old proprietor, the canon Alonso de la Cuadra who possessed lands and a house in this departure toward the year 1710. By the middle of the XIX century it had almost half hundred of inhabitants. In 1887 their census belonged to 19 houses and 109 inhabitants that in 1920 it became 25 houses and 89 inhabitants.
In the decade of the sixty a massive exodus took place, mainly toward Requena, from where they continued assisting the cultivation of its lands and the maintenance of its houses. Today it has 37 houses, half of them in good state, and the rest recovering thanks to the desire of the neighbors of making flourish the village again.

ENTORNO NATURAL

	Their natural environment is enviable, since it possesses some excellent lands for the cultivation of the vine, and an ideal low mount to ---senderismo---, as the route that goes from the village to the fuente de la Higuerilla, it continues to the Muela de Enmedio, it passes to the Muela de Arriba, and it goes down to the Fuente de la Mina, through pinegroves, rosemaries, holm oaks...
As for their fauna it is fruitful and rich in hunt varieties: boars, hares, rabbits, partridges...

ECONOMIC ACTIVITY

The main activities are the vine and the olive tree. In the village of Sisternas is the "BODEGAS DE SISTERNAS", been founded in the year 1920 and of the one that famous wines are born with the mark "VIÑA CABILDERO": rosy of the variety bobal, I tint young and I tint reservation elaborated with the tempranillo varieties, robe and bobal. Under the mark "CASA LAÁZARO", it elaborates an excellent one I tint upbringing. The matter prevails it is obtained of the vineyards that are in the Finca de Sisternas.

This cellar, during all their evolution from 1920, it has gone accumulating besides experience and wisdom in the elaboration of wines, all the types of tools, machinery and farm tools used so much along these years in the work of the earth, or in the elaboration of their wines like tools and teams used in other tools like the trasporte of vats of wine, elaboration of saffron, elaboration of honey, old kitchen utensils or of the field, etc., and that it has given place to a fabulous MUSEUM OF THE WINE AND THE RURAL LIFE, only in the district and recognized by the Conselleria of Culture, Education and Science of the Valencian Community (Page web: www.museodesisternas.com).

Their Patron Parties take place August 15, in those that it takes place the great annual reencuentro of all their descendants and visitors.

OTHER INTERESTING ASPECTS

In the caserío de Sisternas are the Museum of older ---Vinificación--- of the district, being conserved farm tools and ---vinificación--- of other times in perfect state.
It is also a show the power to admire the enormous millennial elm tree (still live) that is in the square of Casas de Cuadra, a very scarce one that their current mayor is pawned in that it is conserved at least another millennium.
